Some chase balls. He chases justice. Fueled by spirulina, driven by justice." chapter 1

In the glittering futuristic city of Neo-Greenville, where skyscrapers reached the clouds and the air always smelled faintly of ozone (and sometimes freshly baked waffles), lived our verdant hero: Captain Chlorophyll. He was a stately Boxer, with a chin that could melt ice and eyes that flashed with both intelligence and an insatiable appetite for... well, actually everything, but mostly spirulina.

On a sunny Wednesday morning, which began with his usual energizing spirulina smoothie (which he drank through a straw big enough for a fire hose), a desperate shriek was heard from the city bakery. "My cake! My award-winning broccoli and carrot cake is gone!" cried Bakery Manager Berit, a woman whose hair was always set in a perfect wheat-braided bun.

Captain Chlorophyll, who was just on his way to patrol the city park (mostly to see if there were any squirrels to say hello to), heard the alarm. His spirulina sensors, which he had in his cape (and which mostly reacted to the release of enzymes from fermented cabbage, but still), indicated a sudden craving for... something sweet and healthy. He activated his "Green Paw Boosters" and zoomed off toward the bakery.

At the crime scene, he was met with total confusion. No one had seen a thing! No one, except for a small Yorkshire Terrier named Pippin who pointed with his paw toward a pile of spirulina powder. "It smells... green!" hissed Pippin, who was himself a great connoisseur of health food, albeit mostly in the form of crumbs from Berit’s whole-grain cookies.

Captain Chlorophyll wrinkled his nose. Spirulina? That was his domain! Someone was trying to imitate him! But who would steal a broccoli and carrot cake and leave spirulina as a clue? It was absurd! He activated his "Super-Sniff" function, which had been enhanced by years of intensive spirulina intake. He followed the trail of subtle carrot scents, a dash of broccoli powder, and, strangely enough, a faint tone of... almond slivers?

The trail led him through alleys, over rooftops, and finally to the notorious "Cat Club HQ" – an old container at the city dump. Captain Chlorophyll snuck in through a gap. There, in the middle of a meeting with a dozen cats wearing blindfolds and tiny fedora hats, sat none other than his arch-nemesis: the cunningly furry Professor Hairless!

Professor Hairless, a hairless cat who always wore a purple silk robe, sat chewing triumphantly on a large piece of the missing cake. Between chews, he exclaimed: "MUAHAHAHA! At last, I have cracked the code! The perfect combination of healthiness and exquisite taste! With this cake, I shall... *cough cough*... I shall conquer the world... with a perfectly balanced diet!"

Captain Chlorophyll could not believe his eyes. Professor Hairless didn't want to destroy the world, he wanted to improve global health with a cake! It was... unexpected.

"Hairless!" roared Captain Chlorophyll, and his voice made the container vibrate. "That cake belongs to Berit! And you have insulted the good name of spirulina by leaving trails of it behind! Why would you do that?"

Professor Hairless, with bits of carrot stuck in his mustache, replied with a sardonic grin: "But Captain Chlorophyll! You are just so predictable! I knew you would love to chase a thief who leaves spirulina trails! And I just needed some inspiration for my own, revolutionary... super-healthy recipe! I knew you would come so that I could show off my creation!"

Before Captain Chlorophyll could even react, Hairless threw a small piece of cake at him. Reflexively, Captain Chlorophyll snatched it out of the air. The taste... oh, the taste! It was unexpectedly good. Perhaps not as powerful as pure spirulina, but still.

After a short but intense discussion (which mostly consisted of Captain Chlorophyll growling a little and Professor Hairless trying to push a brochure on "balanced diets for superheroes" onto him), Hairless agreed to return the rest of the cake. But only if Captain Chlorophyll admitted that it was "surprisingly nutritious for a cat."

So, Captain Chlorophyll returned the slightly battered cake to Bakery Manager Berit, who was overjoyed (even though she muttered about a "cat food-like aftertaste"). Professor Hairless received an official warning for "illegal cake-snatching and poor marketing of spirulina."

And Captain Chlorophyll? He returned to his spirulina supply, now with a new appreciation for variety – even though he still thought pure, unadulterated spirulina was the true superfood. And so the day ended in Neo-Greenville, where the hero saved the day from a somewhat unexpected villain, and everyone learned that even villains can have a penchant for healthy baked goods.

When calm has once again settled over Neo-Greenville and Captain Chlorophyll is just about to take the last, well-deserved sip of his spirulina extract for the day, his Health Collar vibrates with a sharp, red glow.

He happens to glance at the brochure that Professor Hairless pressed into his paw earlier in the day. On the back, hidden under a sticky smudge of carrot glaze, appear a row of cryptic symbols and a chemical formula that makes his intelligent Boxer eyes widen in surprise.

It wasn't just a cake recipe. It was a blueprint.

At the bottom of the page, it is written in an elegant, purple cursive script:

"The cake was just the test, Captain. The true ingredient is hidden in the city's water reservoir. When the sun sets tomorrow, all of Neo-Greenville will be... a little more 'furry' than they expected." Captain Chlorophyll rushes to the window and looks out over the city. Is it just an optical illusion, or have the proud oaks in the city park suddenly started blooming in an unnatural, purple hue? And why are his own boosters starting to beep about "critical fur growth"?
